We all want to have meaningful relationships that are healthy. Does your relationships paint a different picture?
So hear me out. Try to keep an open mind until you finish reading. I know we automatically want to run when we have a mirror shining on us showing all the flaws but there is no growth if we are unwilling to hear all the things.
Have you considered you are the difficult person in your life?
I’m sure you could easily name several difficult people in your life on the spot. But have you taken a moment to think how you are contributing to the relationship?
Have you ever stopped to reflect back on your own thoughts, actions and behaviors that added to the mountain?
Maybe it’s time to ponder if you have habits, tendencies or patterns in relationships that make things difficult to your or others…
Maybe you are highly emotional? Or the opposite and not emotional at all? Crave conflict to just feel connected? Maybe it’s avoiding conflict to the point of feeling resentful that your needs are not being communicated or met? Quick to anger? Hyper focused on the negativity? Self absorbed? Poor boundaries?
My list can go on and on. And guess what? We all have tendencies that can cause friction in a relationship! NO ONE IS EXEMPT! Not even your professional online therapist!
Bringing awareness and doing self reflection is so important if you want to have positive and fulfilling relationships! Start taking a look at all your close relationships to see if you can pin point one of these tendencies. What do you see? Let these patterns show you where you need to grow.
